Kårens studenttidning Mahskara söker nu efter ny chefredaktör inför nästa läsår. Är det du?
Att vara chefsredaktör på Mahskara är både roligt, utvecklande och lärorikt. Arbetet innebär en hel del administrativt arbete, men också spännande möten och roliga uppgifter. Som chefsredaktör är du din egen chef och du ger dig själv och dina medarbetare i tidningen arbetsuppgifter. Arbetet är ideellt men du får dubbelt betalt i erfarenhet och en fantastiskt bra merit.
Som Chefredaktör på Mahskara arbetar du som mest intensivt under hopsättningsveckan. Denna infaller tre gånger per termin i samband med att tidningen skickas till tryck. Övergripande innebär arbetet som chefsredaktör att sköta kontakten med tryckeriet, annonsbyrån och distrubtören Tidningsbärarna. Du delar vidare ut uppdrag till skribenter. I planeringen av tidningen har du textredaktör, bildredaktör och AD till din hjälp. Hur du väljer att lägga upp planeringen och arbetet med tidningen är upp till dig, och med tiden kommer du hitta ett arbetssätt som passar dig. Självklart finns det mallar som tidigare använts på Mahskara du kan använda dig av.

För att uppmärksamma den allt mer tilltagande främlingsfientligheten i Sverige och den senaste tidens händelser vid nationerna i Lund och på Malmö högskola arrangerar nu Studentkåren Malmö en minifestival för mångfald.
Festivalen går under namnet Malmö for Diversity och arrangeras i Pildammsparken den 25:e maj. En rad artister och spännande föreläsare är inbjudna och det kommer utan tvekan att bli en kväll utöver det vanliga!

In order to combat the increasingly growing xenophobia in Sweden and the recent events at the nations in Lund and at Malmö University, Student Union Malmö has decided to arrange a mini-festival in the name of diversity.
The festival is entitled Malmö for Diversity and will take place at Pildammsparken on the 25th of May. A number of artists and captivating speakers have been invited and this will undoubtedly be an extraordinary evening!

UF Malmö, the Deaprtments of GPS and SMS, and the International Office announce 4 places in the team representing Malmö University at the National Model United Nations (NMUN) in Washington D.C. from October 21st-23rd, 2011. The team will have the financial backing from the university and the Student Union, which will cover most of the cost.?The application deadline is May 25th at midnight.
What is the NMUN?
It is a simulation of the actual proceedings of the United Nations where you, as a team, will represent a specific country in the diverse committees of the UN such as the General Assembly and the Security Council. Students will gain valuable insight into the proceedings of the UN, learn how to conduct international diplomacy and sharpen analytical and expressive skills. But not only will you gain a great experience for yourself, it will also be valued by future employers. The Model UN is esteemed around the world and gathers a large interest, especially in the Americas. Furthermore, you will help to put Malmö University on the map as an institution with international ambitions.
Application process
The application is done by submitting a paper on the position of Zimbabwe on either the current situation in the Middle East, or the protection of Human Rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism. Only write about one of those topics! Your paper should not exceed two pages (Times New Roman, 12pt, standard margins, written in English). ??The position paper should be submitted by e-mail to UF, the Student Union’s Utrikespolitiska föreningen (Association of Foreign Affairs in Malmö) no later than Wednesday May 25th at midnight. Email: UF@karen.mah.se. The position paper should also include your contact details, personal identification number and the name of the course/programme you are enrolled in at Malmö University. Please also attach a copy of your ECTS grades (available at Ladok).
Selection Criteria
A first selection will be done based on the position paper, and successful applicants will be called for an interview conducted by one representative of UF Malmö, and one from the Student Union. Prospective candidates will then be presented by them, and decided upon by all sponsoring parties.
Are you interested in participating? If you meet the following requirements, feel free to apply!
• You study at the department of Global Political Studies (GPS) or Language, Migration and Society (IMER/SMS)
• You are good at speaking in public
• You have good English skills
• You can work well in groups, and you can also accept the leadership of the head delegate
• You can work independently with a given task
• You have a good general knowledge about the UN
• You are able to do accurate research within a short time
• You are familiar with the topics discussed at the NMUN
• You can write under a given structure
• You understand the diplomatic decorum
• You can argue from different points of view, even if they are against your own believes
• Financial independence
• You can enter the US without a VISA (depending on your nationality)
• Your grades
• Your commitment to the project – the willingness to put the necessary work in
• You agree to participate in presentations about the Model UN after it has taken place, in case we are asked to do so

KULLA-GULLA, FASSBINDER OCH JAG
Arena Baubo återvänder till Inkonst för att undersöka den dans som uppstår när vi inte lärt oss ta ansvar för våra egna känslor.
Ett nordiskt samarbete mellan Kjersti Vetterstad, Outi Condit, Maria Stiernborg, Kajsa Wadhia, Katja Seitajoki och Lina Benneth initierat av Arena Baubo.
I ett nätverk av performativa aktioner, där video- och scenkonst möts, dekonstrueras och roteras maktstrukturer i dysfunktionella situationer. Arena Baubo gör sig medberoende till missbrukaren, bullmamman, Fassbinder, Kulla-Gulla, den känslomässigt sårbara, psykopaten, det svältande barnet, publiken och den ensamma konstnären. De intar alltid en av rollerna offer, förövare eller hjälte och väntar in åskådarnas placering i triangeln. Sedan börjar dansen.
Dörrarna är öppna under hela eventet och publiken får fritt gå omkring i rummet.

KULLA-GULLA, FASSBINDER AND I
A nordic collaboration between Kjersti Vetterstad, Outi Condit, Maria Stiernborg, Kajsa Wadhia, Katja Seitajoki and Lina Benneth initiated by Arena Baubo.
Arena Baubo is exploring the dance that takes place when we are unable to take responsibility for our own emotions and transfer the responsibility to somebody else.
A network of performative actions. Experiments deconstructing and rotating power structures in public spaces. They become co-dependent on the drug addict, the person in power, the racist, the feminist, Fassbinder, Kulla-Gulla, the lonely elderly person, the starving child, the audience, the artistic director and the critic. They take the role of the hero, the victim or the persecutor and prescribe another role on the ones they are relating to. Then they swap. They are looking for situations where the roles become inevitable and await the spectators’ positions in the triangle. Then the dance begins.
The doors are open during the whole performance, so come whenever you feel like it.
Time: 13 & 14 may at 7 pm until 10 pm and 15 may at 3 pm until 6 pm.

The City of Malmö has a photo competition where you can win a camera!
Beautiful? Noisy? Rainy? What is your picture of Malmö? No matter what it is Malmö city wants it in their mail box. One lucky winner will have their picture published in a European photo book and get a camera worth 5 000 sek.
To join the competition you have to be 15 – 25 years old. The picture must be taken by you. Send only one picture in high resolution (300 dpi) with the size 20×30 cm before May the 19th, to hala.mohammed@malmo.se.
